Travelling
Nov/15/2008

Next week I am heading North to do reading performances of my book in a few bookshops. I am really looking forward to it as I just love performing. My daughter Meg, who has just finished her university degree is coming with me on this road trip. Monday 19th in Wellington, Tuesday night we are going to stay in Palmerston North with other daughter, Wednesday in Wanganui, Thursday in New Plymouth and lastly Friday night in Auckland. Then we are driving back down to Wellington and across on the ferry on Sunday and home. Should be good.

The book has a Godmother
Sep/27/2008

One of the most wonderful things that has happened for us is meeting Ruth Hamilton. We met her earlier this year and it was love at first meeting for Arvind and I. She has held, encouraged, and advised us as we learn how to distribute and market this book. She holds the book with such love and grace we have decided she is our godmother. We feel infinately grateful. Thank you.

Doing Stuff
Sep/27/2008

I realise that I am not very good at doing a blog - I get myself so busy doing stuff in regards to the book I don't give myself time to take a breath and reflect. I fall into the great forgetting!

This book is taking us on such an exciting adventure. Arvind and I packed up the car with books and drove around the country. We have a brilliant and exciting (and some times scary) time going to bookshops and media. Paper Plus has taken it on as one of their Christmas promotions books for which I feel very grateful. So many bookshops agreed to stock it and we are starting to get some reviews.

Book Celebration Party
Dec/09/2007

Sunday afternoon and my friends all came to celebrate this book. It was wonderful!! I feel so grateful to have such open-hearted and supportive people in my life. We ate and laughed and cried. Such a rich day!!

The Books Arrived!
Dec/07/2007

It was exciting when I got the email saying that 3,000 copies of the book had left Hong Kong. Ten days later, they were in Auckland. The short story is that it took longer for them to get from Auckland to Nelson than it took from Hong Kong to Auckland. I was told the arrival date in Nelson was the 25th of October, and I woke up that morning excited. I called the freight company, to be told that they hadn't even left Auckland. I felt like a little kid who woke up on Christmas morning to be told that Christmas had been cancelled. I had to wait another week. When they finally arrived, it all made sense. Arvind, my husband, had been away in India for three weeks and got back the evening before they arrived. They were waiting for Arvind. Then we invited a few friends over and had a celebration.
